My Second Book: Draft Complete!

I’ve finished the draft of my second book, Lessons in Lifecircle Leadership!

When you’re writing a book and leading a senior care service organization and a pandemic hits, it certainly keeps you on your toes. So, you can understand why I’m extra excited about completing the draft of this book, which I hope to have available to you in an ebook format by the end of this year.

The purpose of this book isn’t necessarily a sequel, but more of a companion to the first book, Lifecircle Leadership. In Lifecircle Leadership, I share a lot of background on pragmatic altruism and why it works. Lessons in Lifecircle Leadership began because readers expressed a desire to have a book that took it a step further and shared how to apply that principle to their lives. Think of it as a pragmatic altruism roadmap.

I’m not a full-time author or an author by trade, but I do love the fact that I have team who can help me bring a book to life. Now the content is written, so we’re moving on to the next part of the process – a book publisher – because as you’ve learned from my book and my blog, the I’m a firm believer in maximizing the strengths of a team. Find the best person for a job (spoiler: it’s not always you) and help support them in that role.

The publisher is reviewing my draft for grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and readability. After that, the layout process ensures that things like “the chart above” will actually be above the text, regardless of which format (Kindle, Nook, etc.) the reader uses.

As editors are working with the text, the cover design will be finalized. I’ve worked with my team to create a draft of the cover design – which you can see by downloading a SNEAK PEEK of my upcoming book!

When everything is complete, the ebook will be distributed to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other retail outlets. Fingers crossed it will hit the virtual shelves in time for the holidays!

In the meantime, I’m excited to start my Speaking circuit again – even if everything is still virtual for now. And if you’d like me to talk with your group about leadership, workforce development, pragmatic altruism, equality and inclusion, or any of the other themes in my book, just contact me.

There’s so much that goes on behind the scenes – it’s a lot of hard work, but I’m so proud to have reached this milestone and incredibly grateful for the team who helped me.

Stay tuned to my blog, because when this new book hits the (virtual) shelves, I’ll be doing promotions for free copies! In the meantime, how about getting a head start by reading Lifecircle Leadership?
